The BIGGEST risk to any CRM implementation is low user adoption.

The Harvard Business Review estimates that 18% to 69% of CRM implementations fail, largely due to poor user adoption.

So how can you guarantee strong user adoption following a new CRM implementation?

What Not To Do

Here’s how most businesses will try to implement a CRM solution:

They start by thoroughly onboarding users onto the platform. They host training sessions, distribute how-to guides, and make the use of the CRM mandatory. Some even tie incentives to using the tool!

And what happens? Users show just enough CRM usage not to get reprimanded…

Here’s a question — When has telling users how to use a tool ever been a good strategy to drive adoption?

Here’s a BETTER question — How can CRM administrators achieve strong user adoption without first understanding their users?
